The Bollywood re-release trend is picking up momentum, and another beloved film is set to make a comeback. Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana (2017), starring Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda, is gearing up for a theatrical re-release this March.
Kriti Kharbanda took to social media to announce the news, sharing a poster of the film along with an exciting message for fans. She wrote, “Love at first sight. Second time: Love all over again! #ShaadiMeinZaroorAana is coming back to the big screen this Friday, March 7th, all because of your love. You’ve laughed, cried, and rooted for Aarti & Sattu in the past, but now it’s time to feel it all over again, in a theatre, with popcorn in one hand and nostalgia in the other. Let’s make this reunion special… Shaadi thi, ab baarat lekar theatre zaroor aana! Raj and I can’t wait to host you with aadar and satkaar!
Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana is a love story about Satyendra (Rajkummar Rao) and Aarti (Kriti Kharbanda), who met through an arranged marriage proposal. As they develop feelings for one other, fate and personal aspirations take them down different courses, altering the direction of their lives. The novel delves into issues of love, betrayal, societal expectations, and personal growth as the protagonists manage their changing emotions and circumstances. The film was directed by Ratnaa Sinha and produced by Vinod Bachchan’s Soundrya Productions.
Recently, some films have had spectacular re-runs in cinemas. Sanam Teri Kasam, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, and Bareilly Ki Barfi, starring Kriti Sanon and Ayushmann Khurrana, were recently re-released in theaters. Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met and Rockstar, both drew a massive response from audiences.
Kriti Kharbanda’s next film will be Risky Romeo, directed by Abir Sengupta and starring Sunny Singh. She is also developing an action crime thriller series for Netflix with Rana Daggubati. Rajkummar Rao is all set to star in Bhool Chuk Maaf alongside Wamiqa Gabbi. Set in Varanasi, the film encapsulates the essence of small-town romance. The plot revolves around Ranjan, a hopeless romantic who gets a government job to marry his love, Titli. In a twist of fate, right before the wedding, a sequence of unforeseen events occur, completely upending Rao’s world.
