Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) will launch an online programme to train the public in using artificial intelligence (AI) tools effectively in daily life.

The four-week ‘AI Essentials’ online course will have dedicated mentors for every 20 participants. In addition to video classes and resources, the course will include weekly online contact classes.

The programme is designed to benefit everyone, including students, by covering areas such as use of AI tools for daily tasks, including office work; creating social media content; tools that can be used in the fields of art, music, and literature; prompt engineering; and responsible AI.

The course is an updated version of the AI training module that KITE had earlier conducted for 80,000 school teachers, enhanced with new tools. The training will be conducted on the KOOL platform, which has provided online training to more than half-a-lakh teachers.

The first batch will include the 2,500 people who register first through the website www.kite.kerala.gov.in Registration is open till March 5. The fee is ₹2,360, including GST, which must be paid online at the time of registration. Classes will start on March 10. Those who complete the course successfully will be awarded a certificate, a statement from KITE said.
