US rapper Kendrick Lamar and Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) have collaborated again, this time for Captain America: Brave New World. The fourth instalment in the Captain America film series premiered in the US theatres today, on February 14. Previously, the 37-year-old Compton-born rapper curated the soundtrack for Black Panther in 2018.

This time, Kendrick is contributing to the title track for the latest Captain America movie starring Anthony Mackie, whose character Sam Wilson will officially don the stars and stripes. The 46-year-old actor could not contain his excitement about the involvement of the Not Like Us rapper in his new movies. While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Anthony eagerly spilt the beans, revealing Kendrick’s role in crafting the superhero film’s title song.

He said, “Kendrick did the title song for my movie — I hope that’s not supposed to be a surprise.” While Anthony did not share many details about the song, he was all praise for the 37-year-old rapper. He added, “I’m breaking it here first, I’m so excited, man. The beauty and mastery of his craft.”

It is worth noting that neither the title of the song nor its release date has been revealed by the makers. However, as the new Captain America movie in phase 5 of MCU’s line-up has already hit the theatres, it is not hard to imagine the song will also be released soon, and it might be something along the lines of “Brave New World.”

In 2018, Kendrick not only curated but also contributed to the Black Panther: The Album. He produced “All the Stars” with SZA, King’s Dead with Jay Rock, Future, and James Blake and Pray for Me with the Weeknd.

The news of this collaboration comes on the heels of Kendrick’s already remarkable 2025. Not even two months into the year, the Compton-born rapper has achieved many milestones in his career. Firstly, he bagged five Grammys out of seven nominations at the 2025 Grammy Awards, held on February 2 in Los Angeles. He won Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, Best Music Video, Song of the Year and Record of the Year titles for his diss track Not Like Us.

Secondly, last week, during the Super Bowl LIX Halftime show in New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome stadium, his performance on the same diss track directed at Drake garnered much attention. Kendrick even invited the Canadian rapper’s ex, Serena Williams, to perform with him.
