Reflecting on this milestone, Kartik shared, “Pyaar Ka Punchnama was definitely a significant film for me, but it was Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety that truly changed everything. Before Sonu, very few people even knew my name.” With his impeccable comic timing, effortless charm, and a performance packed with wit and energy, Kartik’s portrayal of Sonu wasn’t just a role—it was a statement. Earlier, there were rumours that Triptii Dimri was no longer a part of Anurag Basu’s film with Kartik Aaryan as her ‘image’ didn’t suit the role. Speaking with Hindustan Times about the same, Anurag Basu dismissed the claims, and said that the reason for the actress’ exit was the unavailability of dates. “I don’t know what the film is called right now; the shoot starts this month. We have not finalised the female lead yet—it will be announced in a week,” he said.
