A video of Karan Johar calling his kitchen “ghusalkhana” in Farah Khan’s vlog sparked criticism. Users bashed him for his Hindi mistake and past comments on Kangana Ranaut’s accent.

Karan Johar appeared on Farah Khan’s YouTube vlog last month.

A video of Karan Johar has surfaced on social media which has left netizens shocked and disappointed. In the clip, which is from Farah Khan’s YouTube vlog, the filmmaker is seen referring to the kitchen in his house as “ghusalkhana (bathroom)” in Hindi.

It should be noted that even though the vlog was uploaded on YouTube last month, the clip recently surfaced on Reddit and grabbed everyone’s attention. KJo is seen giving a house tour to Farah when he takes her into the kitchen. However, before entering the kitchen, he gets confused between “rasoi” (kitchen) and “ghusalkhana” (bathroom). Farah laughs but corrects him immediately.

Soon after the clip was shared on Reddit, several social media users bashed the filmmaker for not knowing Hindi. While some argued that KJo must have intentionally used the wrong word to look classy, others bashed him by reminding how he defamed Kangana Ranaut’s accent in the past.

“Probably he does things supposed to be done there at kitchen and vice versa. How does farah know what happens at his house?” one of the users wrote. “This man had defamed Kangana Ranaut for her English accent and Karan Johar even don’t know what say to kitchen in Hindi,” added another. “Showing that they don’t know Hindi is a style statement for them. Such a shame he is,” a third comment read.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Karan Johar is currently working on his next project – Nadaaniyan. The film will mark the acting debut of Saif Ali Khan’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan and will also star Khushi Kapoor in the lead. Nadaaniyan is reportedly a GenZ romantic drama that captures the magic, madness and innocence of first love. While Khushi will be seen as Piya, a bold and spirited girl from South Delhi, Ibrahim will play Arjun, a determined middle-class boy from Noida.
