Kanye West, Spike Lee React To ASAP Rocky’s Verdict In 2021 Shooting Case

ASAP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, dove into the arms of Rihanna with joy after he was declared not guilty during his trial in the Los Angeles courtroom. Fans of the rapper and his family members filled the room with loud cheers as the verdict was announced. The rapper was accused of pointing a gun at his former friend, Terell Ephron, during a heated argument in 2021, followed by two shots that left Ephron with minor injuries. After the trial, Rocky’s several high-profile industry friends, such as Kanye West, Spike Lee, Papoose, and 50 Cent, took to social media to congratulate the rapper on his legal win.

After the verdict was announced, Kanye, who collaborated with Rocky on Jukebox Joints in 2015, shared a black and white photo of the rapper in court. He simply captioned the post with a praying hands emoji.

Filmmaker Spike Lee also reacted to the verdict by thanking the judge. He used the opportunity to promote his upcoming movie, Highest 2 Lowest, which stars ASAP Rocky and Denzel Washington.

Sharing a still from the movie, he wrote, “Thanks to the judge and jury for the not guilty verdict. ASAP And Denzel Washington is a fire in Highest 2 Lowest. DA New Spike Lee joint This SUMMER.”

Taking to Instagram, Rapper 50 Cent wrote, “Not Guilty, I told you, I would bet 500,000K he gonna beat it when ASAP Tellie started getting tired of telling 5 days straight. Now stay sucker free.”

Rapper Papoose shared a viral clip of ASAP Rocky running towards Rihanna to hug her. She was seated among the court spectators alongside the rapper’s mother and sister. He wrote, “I know on the internet everything is a joke. But man I’m so happy for this dude. Peace to Asap & his family. God is good.”

Rihanna also celebrated ASAP Rocky’s acquittal and taking to her Instagram Stories, the singer wrote, “The glory belongs to God and God alone Thankful, humbled by His mercy.”

According to People, before the verdict was announced at Los Angeles’ Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, each jury member confirmed that their decision was their “individual true and correct verdict.” In the end, Both ASAP Rocky and the judge thanked the jury for making the right and fair decision.
