Karnataka Rakshana Vedike leader Jayavant Ajjappa Nidagalkar has said that he was beaten up by some pro-Marathi activists over his inability to speak Marathi.
“Four unidentified men beat me up only because I spoke to them in Kannada,” he told the police.
He has admitted himself in a hospital. A case is yet to be registered.
Meanwhile, Belagavi Police have registered a case against Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti youth wing leader Shubham Shelke on the charge of provoking violence.
