Kangana ranaut slams western culture, criticizes Jennifer Lopez-Ben Affleck’s failed relationship

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is not one to mince her words, and is known to air her unfiltered opinions on social media. In her latest Instagram story, she pointed out the difference between western relationship dynamics and arranged marriages in India. Mocking Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s failed relationship, she said that despite all the fame and success, the Hollywood stars are still on the search for the ‘perfect’ partner. While slamming western culture, she lauded arranged marriages in India, where people ‘get married to strangers’, and ‘go for walks holding hands’ even when they’re 80. She then urged her followers to never idolize western culture.

In her Instagram story, Kangana wrote, “#sundaygossip. Whenever they mock Indian marriages remind them the most intelligent/ good looking actor/filmmaker / writer, so called the hottest man on earth Ben Affleck after many children many marriages still looking for that perfect wife. So is Jennifer Lopez, self made, the richest and one of the greatest pop stars ever, still looking for that perfect person. These two are so perfect that no one is good enough for them so after many trials and tests, children and families fed up by every one’s flaws, these two decided to be together many times. But last time they took double vows and then within few months ran in the opposite directions to save their lives, they are in their fifties and again divorced and still looking.”

She further added that she has been in the West for a significant amount of time, and has noted that people there are always looking for the perfect partner. She pointed out that they have ‘various apps’ on which they look for true love, but never find anyone. “Whereas in India we get married to strangers in arranged marriages and go for walks holding hands even at 80. Never look up to western culture. Our culture is distorted a bit by many factors we must get it right and not look at west for inspiration,” she wrote.

For the unversed, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck first began dating in 2002. They got engaged but called off their wedding in 2004. About 2 decades later, they rekindled their romance, and got married in 2022. They have now settled the terms of their divorce, and are now officially single.

On the professional front, Kangana Ranaut was last seen in the movie ‘Emergency’ which is also directed by her. The film failed to perform well at the box-office. Kangana essayed the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film. Kangana has already begun working on her next project, an upcoming pan-India psychological thriller, in which she stars opposite R Madhavan. The yet-untitled film is helmed by the Thalaivii director Vijay.
