Justin Timberlake fans are in for a major heartbreak as the singer has cancelled his much-awaited concert in Columbus, Ohio, amid flu fears. Taking to his Instagram stories, the star announced cancelling the show and wrote, “You guys. I’m heartbroken. I have to cancel the show tonight. I went into soundcheck battling the flu and now it’s gotten the best of me. It kills me to disappoint you and my team worked so hard to make this show happen. I want to reassure you, you’ll be getting refunds for your tickets. I love you all.”
While fans were left highly disappointed with the last-minute update, many decided to vent their frustration on Jessica Biel, Timberlake’s wife.
Earlier on Thursday, Biel dedicated an appreciation to the singer, gushing about his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, only to find Timberlake calling off his final show moments later. “There’s truly nothing this man can’t do. It’s been so special to watch you, listen to you, and be alongside you for this tour. One last show tonight, give it all you’ve got. I am the proudest,” she wrote in the caption alongside a video featuring clips from his shows.
Enraged fans instantly went to the comment section to voice their outrage, further calling out the singer. A fan wrote, “Apparently he can do everything but offer the courtesy of cancelling with more than 12 minutes to his fans… You cannot tell me that he became that ill that quickly,” while another added, “But then he canceled again!!! While some were already inside & everyone else was out in the cold. I don’t think he was truly sick.”
Another fan ranted, “Well, he can’t tell his fans he’s canceling AGAIN until 20 mins before showtime. Oh wait…he can do that.” Some even pointed out Biel for deleting comments about Justin Timberlake. On the other hand, many others came out in the singer’s support, praising his tour. A comment read, “He deserves all the love you give him,” while someone added, “Yes ma’am! That’s our guy!! So so proud of him, and as always, thank you for loving him the way he deserves to be loved.”
A fan commented, “This tour was incredible, to say the least. We are so grateful for this experience and so happy you got to experience some of it with him!”
The Cry Me A River singer came under fire after announcing the cancellation of his Columbus show after a flu diagnosis. Fans even slammed him for issuing ticket refunds instead of rescheduling the show. The show was slated to draw the final curtains on the pop star’s Forget Tomorrow World Tour stop in the US. Timberlake is now scheduled to visit South America and Europe in March and May respectively.
