Aamir Khan has two kids from his first marriage with ex-wife Reena Dutta – daughter Ira Khan and son Junaid Khan. When Junaid Khan made his first proper public appearance in front of paps, fans praised him for his looks and humble nature. However, some were in disbelief that Aamir Khan had kids who were in their late 20s and early 30s.
Junaid Khan, 31, also believes that since Aamir Khan looks young, many fans didn’t think that he would have grown-up kids. Speaking to SCREEN, he said, “I look so different from my dad (Aamir Khan). Also, he looks so young that people don’t think he can have such a grown-up son.”
As such, he added, that he doesn’t get compared much to his father, despite also being an actor. Junaid made his acting debut with Maharaj, which was released on Netflix. He will soon be making his big-screen debut with Loveyapa. When asked if he felt the pressure to prove himself, he said, “Not really. Everyone has their own journey.”
Being a star kid, does Junaid feel better equipped to handle the pressures of being an actor? He said, “After a point, you learn only from your failure, not others. Yet, there are many advantages — you get to see firsthand how the industry works; you have a family who knows what this world is like and have that support system.”
Junaid said that his parents have encouraged him to make his own choices but will be there to guide him if needed. “Papa and Ma have always encouraged us to do our own thing, make our own mistakes and explore life. If I have any specific questions, then I go to them. They always give excellent advice but also encourage us to follow our heart,” he said.
Meanwhile, as for Loveyapa, Junaid will star alongside Khushi Kapoor in the film. In addition to Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, the film features a stellar cast including Grusha Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, Tanvika Parlikar, Kiku Sharda, and Kunj Anand. Directed by Advait Chandan and backed by Phantom Studios and AGS Entertainment, Loveyapa is set for a worldwide release by Zee Studios on February 7, 2025.
