Joint Secretary of DFS reviews progress of schemes in Yadgir and Raichur

Joint Secretary in the Department of Financial Services (DFS) of the Union government Sameer Shukla reviewed the progress of the Aspirational District Programme in Yadgir and Raichur on Friday.

He said that the Centre has selected 112 districts in the country. The government targeted achievement and accorded 49 indexes in health, education, nutrition, agriculture, water resources, economic inclusion, skill development, and basic infrastructure. “Officers of departments concerned should make efforts to implement programmes and ensure development,” he urged.

Mr. Shukla specifically insisted on the progress under PM SVANidhi, PM Mudra, PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima, PM Suraksha Bhima, and PM Vishwakarma schemes. “These schemes are meant for the poor and middle-class families. Lead bank officers should extend loan facilities to real beneficiaries. The Chief Executive Officers of respective zilla panchayats should submit a detailed report on the progress and number of beneficiaries who received benefits,” he added.

He said the percentage of deliveries in government hospitals should be increased and authorities should attend to cases of anaemia among pregnant women effectively. Mr. Shukla discussed the development and challenges in the identified sectors along with protein-rich food provided to women and deficient patients under the Integrated Children Development Services (ICDS) scheme. He appreciated the effective initiatives taken by the health sector to reduce the percentage of low birth weight.

Mr. Shukla visited the mother-child hospital, anganwadi, Adarsh Vidyalaya, and libraries in Yadgir and Raichur. Deputy Commissioner of Raichur Nitish K., CEOs Rahul Pandwe and Lavish Ordia, and other officers were present.
