Ashutosh Gowariker’s epic historical romance, Jodhaa Akbar, celebrates its 17th anniversary since its release in 2008. Starring Hrithik Roshan as Emperor Akbar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Jodhabai, the film remains a cinematic masterpiece, known for its grandeur, powerful performances, and mesmerizing soundtrack by A.R. Adding to its enduring legacy, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has honored the film by featuring Aishwarya Rai’s regal wedding lehenga in its Color in Motion exhibition, curated by Neeta Lulla. Taking this tribute further, the Academy will host a special screening of Jodhaa Akbar in Los Angeles in March 2025, recognizing its lasting impact on global audiences.
Marking the milestone, director Ashutosh Gowariker, who also turns 61 today, shared his gratitude: “On this 17th anniversary, I’m deeply grateful for the audience’s love.
