YSRCP President and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has strongly condemned the arrest of cine actor Posani Krishna Murali.

On Thursday, he spoke over the phone with Mr. Krishna Murali’s wife, Kusumalatha, who resides in Hyderabad, to offer his support in the light of the arrest.

Mr. Jagan criticized the coalition NDA government in Andhra Pradesh, stating that its administration is being conducted in an authoritarian manner.

He assured Mr. Krishna Murali’s wife that the YSRCP would stand by him in this matter and provide full support. He emphasized that both the public and divine forces are witnessing the ongoing events and urged strength during this challenging time.

Furthermore, he confirmed that the party would extend legal assistance, adding that the matter has already been entrusted to senior lawyers affiliated with the YSRCP to ensure justice is pursued.

The Annamayya district Police arrested actor Posani Krishna Murali from his residence in Hyderabad on Wednesday night. He was arrested on the charge of creating animosity among the people.

Mr. Krishna Murali supported the YSRCP before the 2024 elections and was vocal in criticising then Opposition leader and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Jana Sena Party president K. Pawan Kalyan.

After the NDA came to power, Mr. Krishna Murali announced his retirement from politics and has been living in Hyderabad.
