Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal as the Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj is enjoying a successful run in the theatres. According to the makers, the film earned a massive Rs 33.10 crore Nett India on its release day, marking the biggest opening for the actor in his career. Positive reviews for the film and Vicky’s performance are pouring on social media. Amidst this, Vicky’s sister-in-law Isabelle Kaif also congratulated the team.
Isabelle shared a poster of Chhaava on stories and wrote, “Movies like Chhaava are why we go to theatres! Go watch it roar! Congratulations to the whole team.” Responding to her, Vicky re-shared the story and wrote, “Isy!”
Helmed by Laxman Utekar, the film also features Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai and Akshaye Khanna as the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
The film follows Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s journey to the kingdom following his father’s death when he fights against the vast troops of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
Katrina Kaif also showered praise on Chhaava and her husband Vicky Kaushal. Sharing a poster on Instagram, the actress wrote, “What a cinematic experience and monumental effort it was to bring to life the grandeur of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.”
Lauding director Laxman Utekar, Katrina added, “Laxman Utekar tells this incredible story in the most brilliant way, I’m in awe, the last 40 min of the film will leave you speechless. I’ve spent all morning wanting to go and rewatch it again.”
She praised Vicky for his amazing performance in Chhaava and called him a “chameleon.” Katrina continued, “I’m lost for words at the impact of this film. Vicky Kaushal, you truly are outstanding, every time you come on screen, every shot, the intensity you bring on screen, you are a chameleon the way you transform to your characters, effortless and fluid, I’m so proud of you and your talent.”
Lastly, the actress mentioned Chhaava producer Dinesh Vijan and added, “Dinesh Vijan what is there to say you are a true VISIONARY you support and put your conviction in what you believe in and carving a new trail of brilliance. The entire cast is phenomenal. This is a film for the big screen. So proud of the whole team.”
