Inter-state ganja smuggling gang busted in Godavarikhani

The Godavarikhani two town police have arrested four members of an inter-State gang of ganja smugglers and seized 96.770 kg of dry ganja worth around ₹48.38 lakh from their possession.

The accused were caught while transporting the contraband in two cars from Chhattisgarh’s Jagdalpur to Maharashtra through Telangana’s Peddapalli district, during a vehicle check at 11A mine stage near the coal town on Wednesday (February 19, 2025) evening.

The accused were identified as 32-year-old Uday Veer from Uttar Pradesh, 35-year-old Raj Sanju from of Rajasthan, 25-year-old Keshav and 50-year-old Somanth from Odisha. Two more accused, including Arjun – the ganja supplier from Jagdalpur, are absconding.

Ramagundam Police Commissioner M Srinivasulu produced the accused at a press conference held at the Ramagundam Police Commissionerate in Peddapalli district on Thursday.
