Income Tax Raids At Sukumar’s House And Office, Pushpa 2 Director Rushes Home

The Income Tax Department officials raided filmmaker Sukumar’s house and office in Hyderabad on Wednesday, January 22. As reported by Sakshi Post, the raids began early in the morning and continued for several hours. Reportedly, Sukumar was at the Hyderabad airport when he was escorted by the IT officials back to his residence following which the raids were conducted.

However, details about the purpose and findings of the raid have not been disclosed as of now. No official from the Income Tax department has also any statement regarding the raid.

This comes at a time when Sukumar is enjoying the success of his recently released movie, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The film stars Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead and has earned over Rs 1500 crore.

Meanwhile, IT raids were also conducted on the properties of producer Dil Raju on Tuesday, January 21.

The IT officials are reportedly suspecting tax evasion and are verifying the documents. It is being said that this action is a part of an investigation into alleged financial discrepancies and unaccounted income. Officials are scrutinising financial records and transactions to ascertain potential tax evasion.

Dil Raju, whose real name is Velamakucha Venkata Ramana Reddy, is mostly known for his work in Telugu cinema. He has also financed some Tamil and Hindi films and owns the production company Sri Venkateswara Creations. Raju has won two National Film Awards and was honoured with the Nagi Reddy–Chakrapani National Award in 2013. His recently produced movie was Ram Charan starrer, Game Changer.
