Hyderabad cybercrime ACP suspended for alleged role in Mokila kidnapping case

A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) rank officer working with the Hyderabad Police was placed under suspension by Director General of Police Jitender for his alleged involvement in the abduction of a realtor in Mokila in 2023.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), in the Hyderabad Cybercrime division, Chand Basha was accused of sharing the whereabouts of victim Srinivasa Raju with the abductors by accessing confidential police databases. The individuals later kidnapped Mr. Raju from Nagulapally village in Mokila and forced him to transfer ownership of 30 acres of land in their names at a land registration office.

Mr. Raju later filed a police complaint, leading to the arrest of the kidnappers. During the investigation, it was found that the accused had obtained Mr. Raju’s location details from the DSP. The official was added to the list of accused and he was placed under suspension in the third week of December, a senior official aware of the development confirmed.
