The trio, the leading stars of Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara, posed together for a photo, leaving fans waiting for a concrete announcement on the sequel.
In the said photo, Hrithik, Farhan and Abhay posed in front of a vintage car, almost similar to the one used in the film. In the caption, Hrithik wrote, “It took time, but we finally said YAS”. However, the hashtags ‘Zindagi Ko Yas Bol’ and ‘collab’ in his post left netizens wondering whether they have collaborated for an ad and not the film. First, take a look at the photo here:
Instagram users were left confused by the post. Ringing on to one of the film’s iconic dialogue, a fan wrote, “Aise ZNMD 2 ka teaser dena is not funny.” Another user posted, “Don’t gaslight us.” “Wow waiting eagerly for this masterpiece,” wrote another fan, who believed it to be a sequel announcement post.
For years, fans have yearned for a sequel announcement of ZNMD 2. Filmmaker Reema Kagti, who co-wrote the film with Zoya Akhtar, recently shared in an interview that they have no plans on revisiting the film with the intention of making a sequel, unless they truly have a compelling idea.
“People might think I’m being a bit pompous because it is our film, but I really feel, because of the pressure on us to write Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2, maybe that’s a film we should leave alone till we get a really good idea,” Reema told Zoom.
While it’s still unclear whether Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol hinted at a sequel announcement or an ad shoot, we are just happy to see the main cast collaborate. Ain’t it?
