
The Hoysala patrolling staff rescued a 27-year-old woman in the nick of time while she allegedly attempted to end her life after locking herself inside the washroom of her house in Govindapura on Sunday.
It was around 12. 30 p.m. when Hoysala-42 patrol team, led by ASI Rabbani and Head Constable Iranna, received an SOS and rushed to the location. The victim’s sister had made the call to the helpline which was diverted to the near-by Hoysala patrolling vehicle.
The complainant stated her sister had locked herself in the bathroom and was attempting to harm herself over family issues.
Responding to the call, the rescue team rushed to the location, and found the woman in a distressed and unstable state. The officers broke open the door, rescued her, and immediately admitted her to a nearby hospital.
She had been deeply troubled after her husband asked for divorce, said the police.
Midnight rescue in Hebbal
In another incident, on January 26, 2025, around 11:50 p.m., the 112 emergency helpline received a call reporting that a man had consumed a poisonous liquid and locked himself inside his house in the Hebbal Police Station jurisdiction.
The victim, a private firm employee, had been living in a rented building in Babu Reddy Layout for three months with his wife and their three children. Following a domestic dispute, his wife had left the residence to stay with her family. During a video call with his wife, he consumed the liquid and locked himself inside the house. The panicked wife immediately informed their building owner, who in turn alerted the police.
Within 10 minutes of receiving the call, the Hoysala-128 patrol team, led by Assistant Inspector Chenappa and Head Constable Basappa, rushed to the scene. They broke open the door with the help of two individuals and found the victim unconscious and immediately called for an ambulance.
On the way to the hospital, the officers administered first aid, making him drink salt water to induce vomiting and expel the liquid. He was admitted to Bowring Hospital for further treatment and is said to be out of danger.
