Guru Randhawa has made India proud by achieving a remarkable milestone. The Punjabi pop star is now the first Indian artist to surpass 14 billion streams on YouTube, outshining global icons like Drake, Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish and Travis Scott. His official artist channel on YouTube has accumulated 749 million views and 4.4 million subscribers.
The Punjabi singer expressed his feelings for the achievement in a statement: “This milestone is a proud moment, not just for me but for Indian music as a whole. It shows how far our sound has traveled and how powerful it can be in bringing people together. I’m honoured to represent India on this platform and remain forever thankful to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey.”
According to YouTube, some of Randhawa’s most streamed songs in 2024 include Ishare Tere with Dhvani Bhanushali, In Love with Raja Kumari and Pagal with Babbu Maan.
Recently, Randhawa also took a spiritual journey to the Triveni Sangam during the Maha Kumbh. Sharing a video on Instagram, he captured moments of his holy dip, enjoying a boat ride and watching the aarti in the evening.
Randhawa wrote in the caption, “Blessed to take a sacred dip in Maa Ganga at Prayagraj, where faith flows and spirituality thrives. Starting my new journey with God’s blessing. Har har Gange!”
Randhawa’s professional journey has been nothing short of spectacular with the singer delivering numerous chart-topping hits like Patola, Naach Meri Rani, Suit Suit, Lagdi Lahore Di, Morni Banke, Ban Ja Rani, Slowly Slowly, Kaun Nachdi and High Rated Gabru. These tracks have made him a fan-favourite in the music world.
In addition to his music career, Randhawa has also ventured into acting, making his debut in the romantic drama Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay in 2024. The film, which also stars Saiee Manjrekar and Anupam Kher, was directed by G Ashok and received a positive response from both fans and critics
Looking forward, Randhawa is gearing up for his next film, Shaunki Sardar, directed by Dheeraj Kedarnath Rattan. The movie, set to release on May 16, features a stellar ensemble cast including Babbu Maan, Guggu Gill and Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia in pivotal roles. Shaunki Sardar is poised to be a vibrant celebration of Punjab’s rich culture, traditions and values.
Furthermore, in December 2024, Guru Randhawa announced the release of his upcoming song, Punjab.
