The State government has recognised the operational excellence of Kerala Clays and Ceramic Products Limited (KCCPL), a public sector undertaking located at Pappinisseri in Kannur that has thrived despite challenges.

In a decision taken at the cabinet meeting on Wednesday (February 5), the government approved an increase in the company’s authorised capital from ₹4 crore to ₹30 crore to strengthen its future operations.

This marks the first ever increase in working capital since KCCPL’s inception. The government views the decision as part of its broader strategy to sustain and expand the public sector.

The company has been consistently profitable for the past three financial years. In light of this, the board of directors has engaged with recognised labour unions to revise workers’ salaries and has submitted a proposal to the government.

KCCPL chairman T.V Rajesh and managing director Anakai Balakrishnan recently held a discussion with Finacnace Minister K. N Balagopal, who assured prompt approval for the revision.
