Govinda’s niece, Ragini Khanna, was a popular television actress and starred in shows like Sasural Genda Phool. Despite being Govinda’s family, Ragini soon disappeared from the entertainment world. In a recent chat with Hindi Rush, she revealed she used to be quite close to Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja. However, once she started working, there was a total disconnect.
Ragini said, “We used to spend every evening at my nani’s house. Had to meet Sunita Maami (Sunita Ahuja) every evening as a child.” She recalled, “When I started my career, total disconnect. We played in the building while growing up, but after getting busy with my career, we became strangers.”
She said, “Because I had no time to even sleep. I used to not meet my cousins. I was not able to talk to my mother and extended family. I couldn’t attend my family’s weddings in Punjab or was able to go to my friend’s wedding.”
Meanwhile, rumours had been swirling about Bollywood star Govinda’s alleged divorce from his wife, Sunita Ahuja. Reports suggested that Sunita had sent Govinda a divorce notice six months ago, but according to the actor’s lawyer, the couple has resolved their differences. Amidst the speculation, a video of Sunita had gone viral on social media, where she confidently declared that no one can separate her from Govinda.
Govinda married Sunita in March 1987. The couple welcomed their daughter Tina in 1988 and also have a son, Yashvardhan. Sunita often shares pictures of Govinda and their children on social media, showcasing their close-knit family bond. Last month, several media reports claimed that Govinda and Sunita Ahuja had decided to part ways owing to constant disagreements and varied lifestyles. It was also said that Govinda’s growing closeness to a 30-year-old Marathi actress was reportedly a major factor in their alleged split. However, his team refused all unverified speculation.
