Gangavaram, Krishnapatnam ports make significant progress

The Gangavaram port, owned by Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), launched container terminal operations with the inaugural EXIM vessel call of MV Synergy Keelung in FY 2024-25.

This was disclosed by APSEZ in its results for the quarter and nine months ending December 31, 2024. Apart from this, the Krishnapatnam port, which is also owned by APSEZ, received the 18th Indian Chamber of Commerce Environment Excellence Award 2024 in the platinum category demonstrating its commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices, it is said. It also won the Sustenance Organisation Award at the Quality Circles Federation of India Tirupati Chapter Meet. This award recognises commitment to quality and continuous improvement thereof. 

APSEZ’s seven ports and terminals on the west coast (Mundra, Tuna Tekra & Berth 13 in Kandla, Dahej, and Hazira in Gujarat, Mormugao in Goa, Dighi in Maharashtra and Vizhinjam in Kerala) and eight ports and terminals on the east coast (Haldia in West Bengal, Dhamra and Gopalpur in Odisha, Gangavaram and Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Kattupalli and Ennore in Tamil Nadu and Karaikal in Puducherry) represent 27% of the country’s total port volumes.
