Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC president D.K. Shivakumar on Sunday said that he had appealed to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge to organise Gandhi Bharat programmes throughout the year across all Assembly constituencies.
“These programmes are for all sections of society and not limited to the Congress. This is an attempt to spread the values of Gandhiji and B.R. Ambedkar and also to protect the Constitution,” Mr. Shivakumar told reporters during the 76th Republic Day celebrations at the KPCC office.
He said that the party was preparing to organise these programmes in all 224 constituencies in Karnataka.
Regarding his meeting with Mr. Kharge, he asked: “Can’t he peacefully sit and have coffee in the building that he has built for the KPCC? Do you discuss internal matters of the family in public? The Chief Minister has already clarified that there are no differences in the party.”
