Expressing her admiration for pop star Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams spoke to a portal and highlighted how contrasting their personalities are.

Gracie Abrams is Taylor Swift’s big-time admirer and there is no doubt about it. Such is her love for the pop sensation that the Internet often refers to her as a Taydaughter. Abrams first opened for Swift’s concert during her Eras tour in 2022. Her opening performance came a year after the duo became friends in 2021. Expressing her admiration for the pop star, Abrams recently spoke to a portal wherein she also underlined her and Swift’s contrasting personalities.
Speaking about her bond with Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams told Cosmopolitan, “I couldn’t be more different from Taylor. We are different in all the ways that my friends and I are different or that you and I are different.” As she continued to heap praises on the pop icon, Abrams also called the singer a very talented athlete, an extraordinary business strategist, and a wonderful songwriter. For her, Swift’s all these qualities combined with her humble nature, make her a source of inspiration.
“Taylor is an athlete, a brilliant businessperson, and a genius writer. She’s a grounded human being who makes time for everyone in her life,” added Abrams. Further, she also commented on being a certified Taydaughter and noted, “It’s been really cool to be in the orbit of a person like her.”
That’s not all. Abrams is also impressed with Swift’s capacity to be able to stay active at work while also being deeply present with everyone around her. However, she is critical of the ongoing suspicion about the pop star’s achievements.
Concluding, she said, “There’s also nothing that comes close to what she has done. People will still gaslight her and her capabilities and all this sh*t. But please point me to one man who has come close to defining pop culture in this way. There is nothing! But people are not ready for that conversation.”
Gracie Abrams and Taylor Swift’s friendship began in December 2021 after she received a call for an invitation to the latter’s birthday party, as per reports. In 2023, Abrams spoke about her meeting with Swift to the Recording Academy and said that it was similar to a union with “an immediate best friend and also a superhero.” Recently, Abrams was nominated at the Grammys 2025 alongside her idol in an achievement.
