The title and the first look poster of actor Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film tentatively titled ‘Thalapathy 69’ is set to release on January 26.
After ‘The Ghost’, Vijay will star in the as-yet-untitled H. Vinoth film. Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamita Baiju, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and others are in the cast. Vijay will share the screen with Pooja Hegde, who plays the lead opposite him, while Bobby Deol plays the villain.
Anirudh will compose the music for the film, which KVN Productions is producing. Shooting is currently underway, and the film is scheduled for release in October.
Earlier, Vijay announced that Thalapathy 69 will be his final film. He reportedly decided to focus more on his political career. At a recent event for the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, Vijay mentioned that he has left fame and money behind. He stated he is ready to be a normal person and stand by his people. His decision to quit film has saddened his fans.
In February 2024, Vijay founded the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party. Since then, the Tamil actor has been actively involved in political activities. According to some reports, his party plans to contest in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar, who will be starring in Bhairathi Ranagal, said in an interview that he will feature in Vijay’s final film. He hinted that his role is very interesting.
“My role in Thalapathy 69 is quite interesting but I don’t know how it will work out considering my dates and schedules. Vijay announced that this would be his last film but he should not do it so fast. As a friend and well-wisher, I think Vijay is a fantastic actor and a very good human being as well. He is fantastic and I respect that. I hope I get to be a part of his film,” he said.
