A fire broke out in two boats in Hussainsagar late on Sunday (January 26, 2025). The incident was reported during ‘Bharat Mata Maha Harati’ programme at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road. The fire was allegedly caused due to explosion of firecrackers stored in the boats.
According to a fire control official, following a distressed call at 9.05 p.m. , two fire tenders were pressed into service. Meanwhile, two Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams equipped with fire extinguishers and other equipment were also rushed to the spot. Information on any injuries or casualties is yet to be confirmed. Firefighting operations are underway.
