Five cows and a calf were killed, and a stockpile of copra was gutted following a fire mishap at a farmhouse in Henjagondanahalli in Arasikere taluk on Saturday night.
Shivanna, the farmer, had put up a shed on his farm for his cattle and to store his agricultural produce. Around 7 p.m., he noticed smoke in the shed. Later he found that five cows and a calf were dead. Besides that, the stockpile of copra was reduced to ashes, and his shed had been burnt.
The reason for the fire mishap is not known. The loss of property was assessed to be around ₹15 to 20 lakhs. A complaint was lodged with the Arasikere Rural Police.
