The Hulimavu police have arrested the owner of a private security agency and his friend for verbally abusing a woman police constable and humiliating her in public while she was managing traffic manually at a busy junction on Saturday evening.

The victim Vanishree S. T., attached to Hulimavu Traffic Police Station, was struggling to manage the traffic at the non-signalled Sai Baba Temple junction in the area. She signaled an SUV to stop while allowing other vehicles to pass. The SUV started moving blocking the movements of the other vehicle. Ms. Vanishree asked the driver to stop following which the accused later identified as Lokesh got down from the vehicle, verbally abused her, and used unparliamentary words to humiliate her. Ms. Vanishree warned him to behave himself, for which he threatened her that he would ensure her uniform will be removed.

The others motorists noticing his wayward behaviour came to the rescue of the constable, while some recorded his behaviour on their mobile phones and put it on social media .

Ms. Vanishree alerted the police who rushed to the spot and arrested Lokesh and his associate Ravi charging them under Section 132 ( assaults or uses criminal force to any person being a public servant in the execution of his duty as such public servant) and seized the SUV.
