The long-standing feud between the two of the biggest hip-hop stars, Drake and Kendrick Lamar, hit another fiery note during the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show. Taking centre stage, the 37-year-old American rapper performed his notorious diss track Not Like Us aimed at Drake. In a bold move that surprised the crowd, he even invited the Canadian rapper’s ex, tennis legend Serena Williams, to join him on stage, adding fuel to the simmering feud.
But while Kendrick made headlines at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, the 38-year-old Canadian hitmaker seemed completely unbothered. Half a world away in Australia, Drake was busy captivating his audience and even making generous gestures towards his fans. During his show in Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena as part of his Anita Max Win tour, he gave away a combined $45,000 cash gifts to his fans.
Drake first handed out 25 grand to a female fan, whom he spotted in the crowd with a sign that read: “Adonis for President,” giving a nod to his 7-year-old son. Impressed by the gesture, the 38-year-old rapper said, “You’re showing a lot of love to my son, so on behalf of me and Adonis, we’re going to give you 25 grand for your family,” as quoted by Billboard.
Next, the God’s Plan hitmaker responded to another signboard, where a fan mentioned, “Kiss me, it’s my birthday.” After spotting it, Drake said, “I can’t really see you from here… It’s a tough read on the kiss, but what I am gonna do is I’m gonna give you 20 grand, and I’m gonna pay for a birthday dinner for you and all your friends.”
Continuing his kind gesture, Drake also promised tickets to the two fans if they wanted to come back to the show for a second time. He also mentioned that the tickets would be a gift from his side. “And if you want, you can come back to the show again. Both of y’all, if y’all want, we’ll get you tickets,” the rapper told his lucky fans.
This was not the first time that the 38-year-old showered his fans with cash gifts. Earlier, during his show in Perth, Drake gave away $40,000 to his lucky fans in the crowd.
Drake’s Anti Max Win tour is his seventh tour, which began on February 4 in Perth and will conclude on March 16 in Auckland, New Zealand.
