South actress Keerthy Suresh is currently in marital bliss, having married her childhood sweetheart, Antony Thattil. The actress tied the knot with her long-time beau in December 2024. But do you know that her Sandakozhi 2 co-star Vishal wanted to marry her at one point? As cited by Times Now, acclaimed Tamil filmmaker N Lingusamy made a shocking claim in a conversation with a Tamil magazine. The director, known for directing films like Aanandham, Run, Sandakozhi, and Paiyaa, recounted that he talked to Keerthy about a marriage proposal, which was initiated by actor Vishal’s father, GK Reddy.
During the making of Keerthy Suresh and Vishal’s starrer Sandakozhi 2 in 2018, Vishal’s father was deeply impressed by Keerthy’s kind and respectful nature. He then approached Lingusamy to ask for Keerthy Suresh’s hand in marriage for his son. Following this request, N Lingusamy visited Keerthy’s home with the proposal. The actress, however, informed him that she had been in love with her childhood sweetheart, Antony Thattil, for a long time.
The director said, “Vishal’s father requested me to go ask Keerthy Suresh’s hand in marriage for his son. So when I did approach her, she told me that she was in a relationship with Antony, to whom she is married now. I attended the three-day wedding event, and it was amazing. He is the reason behind Keerthy’s success.”
Keerthy Suresh and Antony Thattil dated for close to 15 years. They met when Keerthy was in high school and Antony was doing his undergraduate studies in Kochi. After years of dating, the couple had a traditional Tamil wedding on December 12, 2024, followed by a Christian wedding. The grand celebration was attended by several prominent stars, including Vijay, Trisha, Atlee, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and others.
On the cinematic front, Vishal was most recently seen in Madha Gaja Raja. Now, he is busy shooting for his next project, Thupparivaalan 2. Keerthy Suresh, on the other hand, most recently starred in Baby John, co-starring Varun Dhawan. She is gearing up for the release of her upcoming Netflix series, Akka. The actress also has Revolver Rita and Kannivedi lined up in her kitty.
