Opposing the recruitment of candidates through walk-in interviews to fill up 658 vacant posts of specialists, AMMK founder T.T.V. Dhinakaran on Tuesday urged the DMK government to conduct the recruitment only through the usual process by the Medical Recruitment Board.

Referring to the statement by Health Minister Ma. Subramanian about the walk in interviews, Mr. Dhinakaran expressed shock and contended such a decision would go against the objective of setting up the Medical Recruitment Board.

“The doctors associations are raising queries as to why, the DMK government that had not conducted recruitment processes even after various protests, was conducting walk in interviews in a hurry,” Mr. Dhinakaran said.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had opposed the walk in interviews when he was the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Dhinakaran pointed out and said it was an act of deceiving the doctors. He further called for dropping the walk in interviews and conduct the recruitment process as usual by the MRB.
