Deputy CM for mutual cooperation between Telangana and Queensland in mining technologies

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has said that the State is set to play a crucial role in the mining of key minerals in the coming days.

The Deputy Chief Minister welcomed the decision of the Queensland government for taking the initiative for ensuring mutual cooperation between Queensland and Telangana governments describing it as a major milestone. Mr. Bhatti Vikramarka met the Queensland delegation headed by Minister Ros Bates here on Monday.

He said minerals like Cobalt, Indium, Chromium and Titanium played a key role in catering to the ever increasing demand for electric vehicles and battery storage systems. The country was importing 11 key minerals so far, but mutual cooperation with Queensland which held adequate resources of these minerals would be beneficial in terms of production and sale of these minerals.

At the same time, Telangana was inclined to take the help of Queensland government in achieving its target of 20,000 MW green energy by 2029-30. He announced the Singareni Collieries and Company would be made a nodal agency for enabling robust mines and minerals business between Telangana and Queensland governments.

The SCCL had already entered into an agreement with Queensland and was availing its services in leveraging technology in mining. The government had decided to depute a team from Singareni to Queensland to study and understand the practices there for entering into partnerships in future.
