Mandatory licence for operations, regular security checks and timely closure of pubs and other nightlife establishments were among the key issues discussed at Cyberabad police’s security coordination meeting with private establishments on Thursday.

The meeting, which brought together representatives from pubs, bars, restaurants, hotels, lodges, amusement establishments, event management firms, and private security agencies, was to enhance security coordination and ensure strict compliance with legal regulations.

During the meeting, Madhapur Deputy Commissioner of Police Vineeth G. underscored the important role of private security agencies and event organisers to enforce laws and maintain public safety.

He said that private security agencies must hold a valid Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act (PSARA) licence issued by the Director General of Intelligence, Telangana, for their operations.

He also stressed on the fact that security personnel must not wear uniforms resembling those of the police, military, or paramilitary forces, to avoid potential misuse or public confusion. Furthermore, all security guards were directed to carry official photo identity cards at all times to facilitate verification by law enforcement officials.

Regular security checks

To reinforce safety measures at private establishments, venue operators were instructed to conduct regular checks through trained security personnel. Businesses should operate strictly within permitted hours to maintain public order.

Establishments were directed to deploy trained security personnel at entry and exit points to effectively manage crowds and prevent any untoward incidents. Private establishments were advised to promptly report any criminal incidents and share relevant information about suspects to ensure swift response and effective crime prevention.

Besides, strict vigilance against anti-social elements was emphasised. Businesses were instructed to maintain close coordination with the police to identify and deter unlawful activities.

Cyberabad Police urged all private security agencies and event organisers to work in close cooperation with law enforcement authorities to create a well-monitored and secure environment for the public.
