
The District Industries and Export Promotion Committee (DIEPC) met at the collectorate here Wednesday (January 29).
District Collector T.S. Chetan highlighted the need for accelerating industrial growth by implementing government policies and providing the necessary support to entrepreneurs.
During the meeting, officials reviewed the progress of the District Industries Department and discussed measures to facilitate the establishment of new industrial units. The District Collector directed the officials to educate and encourage entrepreneurs, particularly those from SC, ST, BC, minority communities and women, to take advantage of government schemes for industrial and service sector development.
Special focus should be placed on promoting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by leveraging Central and State government support.
The officials were instructed to expedite applications through the single-window portal, ensuring timely approvals. The District Collector also reviewed the status of industrial permits and instructed the departments concerned to process pending applications efficiently.
Additionally, he stressed the importance of financial support from banks, urging them to extend loans and incentives to aspiring industrialists.
Investment, electricity and interest concessions amounting to ₹40 lakh was sanctioned to strengthen the district’s industrial sector.
District Industries Department General Manager Nagaraju and APIIC Zonal Manager Sony Sahani, were among those who attended the meeting.
