Vineet Kumar Singh, who portrayed Kavi Kalash in Chhaava, is overwhelmed by the audience’s response to his performance. The Vicky Kaushal starrer, released on Valentine’s Day, has surpassed ₹350 crore at the box office. While Vicky’s portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj has been widely celebrated, Vineet has also been receiving immense praise for his role as the loyal poet and friend.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Vineet spoke about how Chhaava has changed his life and how he is still processing the overwhelming love. “After Chhaava, it feels like I am experiencing something new. I have been in the industry for over 20 years, but I have never felt this way. Even when Mukkabaaz (2017) released, where I played the lead, I did not experience this kind of love.”

He added that everything around him has changed. “I am travelling, meeting so many people, and they approach me in a very different way now. It feels like I have just taken birth as an actor. I have no words to describe my feelings. I am yet to process my feeling.”

Recalling his reaction to the role, Vineet said, “I immediately knew it was something special. While reading the script, I felt this film would touch people’s hearts. By the time I reached the climax, I was emotionally charged and certain that the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and poet Kalashji’s friendship would leave a lasting impact.”

The audience’s deep emotional connection to Kavi Kalash has surprised Vineet. “We knew people would love the film, but I never imagined it would be such a massive hit. Now, when I visit theatres, I feel like people have adopted me,” he shared.

Describing his interactions with fans, Vineet said, “Children hug me, cry, and hold onto me as if I were family. When they see I’m alive, their reaction is overwhelming. At the airport, people cupped my face the way a mother holds her child’s cheeks. I have never experienced anything like this.”
