Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava continues its impressive run at the box office as it enters its second week with strong numbers. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the historical drama starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna has maintained steady momentum, earning Rs 22.50 crore on its second Friday.
According to Sacnilk, the film’s total India net collection now stands at Rs 241.75 crore, based on early estimates. Chhaava had a stellar opening, collecting Rs 31 crore on day one, followed by a strong weekend with Rs 37 crore on Saturday and Rs 48.5 crore on Sunday. The film remained stable throughout the weekdays, even witnessing a jump on Wednesday with Rs 32 crore. By the end of its first week, Chhaava had amassed Rs 219.25 crore net in India.
The film’s global performance is equally impressive. Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram to share that Chhaava has grossed Rs 310.50 crore worldwide in its first week. Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming response, he wrote, “All your messages, calls… all the videos you all are sharing of your experience of watching Chhaava… I’m seeing it all… taking it all in. Thank you for all your love… Grateful to each and every one of you for celebrating the glory of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.”
Chhaava is based on Shivaji Sawant’s acclaimed Marathi novel of the same name and brings to life the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the valiant son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Rashmika Mandanna plays Yesubai Bhonsale, Sambhaji Maharaj’s wife, while Akshaye Khanna portrays Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The film also features Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, and Vineet Kumar Singh in pivotal roles.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Chhaava was released on February 14 and has resonated deeply with audiences, particularly for its grand storytelling and powerful performances. With its strong box office hold, the film is expected to continue its successful run into the second week, solidifying its status as one of the biggest hits of 2025.
