Chandrababu Naidu urges NITI Aayog to help Andhra Pradesh achieve Vision-2047 goals

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Suman Bery to support the State in achieving its Vision-2047 goals.

Mr. Suman Bery met the Chief Minister at the Secretariat on Friday.

On the occasion, Mr. Naidu said the focus of ‘Swarnandhra-2047’ was on economic growth, skill development, industries, and sustainability.

“Andhra Pradesh aims at achieving 15% growth rate annually, targeting a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047 and ensuring a per capita income of $42,000,” Mr. Naidu said.

“My ambition is to shape Andhra Pradesh into a global leader in human development and good governance,” he told Mr. Suman Bery.

Thrust areas

Mr. Naidu suggested that the Government of Andhra Pradesh and NITI Aayog worked together in the areas such as industrial corridors, skilling hubs, smart cities, and strengthening infrastructure.

He also sought NITI Aayog’s involvement in data collection, best practices, strategic partnerships, attracting private investments, FDI, and resource mobilisation.

The Chief Minister also urged NITI Aayog to prioritise the key initiatives of river linking, poverty alleviation through the ‘P4’ policy, and implementation of the 10 principles of the Vision-2047.

“If the Tirupati-Chennai-Nellore area, with its three seaports and three airports, is developed as a tri-city, it will boost regional development,” he said.

The Chief Minister sought NITI Aayog’s support to develop the Visakhapatnam Economic Region (VER) and transform Tirupati and Amaravati into regional growth hubs.

“Recognising blue economy, green hydrogen, and AI development as key growth engines is the need of the hour,” Mr. Naidu said.

Requesting NITI Aayog’s cooperation in providing innovations and technologies, and in assisting with implementing new policies, he expressed confidence that with its support the State would move forward.

Responding positively, Mr. Suman Berry said NITI Aayog would certainly be a partner in the development process.
