
Dr. S. Somanath, former Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will inaugurate the Centre for Space Science and Technology (CSST) at the National Institute of Technology-Calicut (NIT-C) at 10 a.m. on February 7.
A press release said the CSST was established with support from the ISRO and the NIT-C alumni. Distinguished alumnus Dr. Subbarao Pavuluri, CMD, Ananth Technologies, and J.A. Kamalakar, former Director, ISRO, played key roles in setting up the centre.
According to the release, the centre will also house Clean Labs worth ₹2-crore, funded by the NIT-C alumni. The facilities are designed to minimise contamination and ensure the reliability of spacecraft and their components. NIT-C will open the lab to startups and researchers working on space and allied technologies.
