CBI’s focus in 2025 would be on accelerating trial disposal of cases: Chief Praveen Sood

Central Bureau of Investigation Director Praveen Sood on Thursday (February 27, 2025) said 2024 witnessed high disposal of about 1,400 under-investigation cases, while about 900 fresh cases were registered during the year. The CBI’s focus in 2025 would be on accelerating trial disposal of cases, he said.

Speaking at a valediction ceremony at CBI Academy (Ghaziabad) in which 50 newly recruited law officers of the agency were formally inducted into service on completion of training, he called upon the officers to endeavour towards making their best contribution. Referring to the imperative of working hard, Mr. Sood advised the officers to work in the pursuit of organisational goals in line with the CBI’s motto of industry, impartiality, and integrity, said the agency’s release.

During the ceremony, the CBI chief presented trophies, medals, and certificates to the winners of various categories. The group comprises officers with diverse academic backgrounds: eight hold B.A./LL.B degrees, 11 have B.Com/LL.B, three possess B.Sc/LL.B, one has an M.Sc/LL.B, 24 are LLM graduates, and the rest are BBA/LL.B graduates.
