Business Leaders Eager To Join ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’, Says Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday highlighted the overwhelming enthusiasm of business leaders to participate in the ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’ initiative. Speaking at a roadshow organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Seoul, South Korea, CM Sarma shared that he spoke with over 140 business leaders, who expressed a strong interest in exploring investment opportunities in Assam.

CM Sarma emphasized that the Korean business community was particularly excited about the potential of Assam, given India’s position as the world’s fastest-growing major economy. He noted that this growing optimism towards Assam presents unique opportunities for the state’s economic development.

Earlier in the week, CM Sarma also met President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and extended an invitation for her to attend the Srimanta Sankardeva Award 2025 in Assam, which was graciously accepted.

In a separate development, the Assam government approved Rs 2,000 crore for various developmental projects, including financial support for 27 lakh women in Self-Help Groups and infrastructure initiatives such as road development and drainage system improvements in Morigaon Town.
