The days and period for the session were finalised at a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee at the Assembly Secretariat here on Wednesday (March 11, 2025). The meeting was chaired by Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister of the State government Ratan Lal Nath, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Whip Kalyani Roy; Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) MLA and Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Jitendra Chaudhury; Minister and TIPRA Motha leader Animesh Debbarma; and Assembly officials attended the meeting.
Mr. Nath said suggestions had been accepted from Opposition parties to increase the business days of the session. “We want to discuss more and more issues in the interest of the people at large,” he said.
All normal business and discussions would be transacted, apart from the presentation of Budget, the Minister said, seeking cooperation from Opposition members for a smoothly run session.
