Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA and former minister T. Harish Rao has slammed the Congress government in Telangana, holding it responsible for Kummari Nageshwar Rao’s (Nagaiah) death. He demanded that the government pay ₹25 lakh ex gratia to the deceased’s kin.

In a post made on the ‘X’, Mr. Rao alleged that Nageshwar Rao’s name was omitted from the Indiramma houses scheme beneficiaries list at Buttaigudem village of Kannaigudem mandal in the district, prompting him to attempt to end life at the Gram Sabha on January 23. He died at a Hanamkonda hospital on Thursday (February 6, 2025).

The BRS leader accused the Congress government of creating confusion by releasing the beneficiaries list without proper planning and selection. He also claimed that Congress MLAs and leaders declared that government schemes are only for Congress workers. Nageshwar Rao, a small farmer, is survived by wife, two daughters and a son.
