Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K. Kavitha has criticised the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre for denying national status to the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) and accused both the BJP and Congress of neglecting Telangana’s interests.
In a statement, she stated that Telangana, since its formation, had been facing discrimination by the Centre. “Neither the BJP, now in its third consecutive term in office at the Centre, nor the Congress, which is in power in the State, have done anything meaningful to secure Telangana’s rightful share in devolution of funds, sanction of projects and others,” she said.
She alleged that both the parties vie with each other in gaining political mileage but deliver absolutely nothing to the people of Telangana. She mentioned that the previous BRS Government had made 13 representations to the Union Government, pressing for the national project status to PRLIS.
The BRS leader demanded that the Congress Government in the State stand up for Telangana’s rights and ensure that its voice echoed powerfully in Delhi.
