It Ends With Us star Brandon Sklenar shared his excitement about the possibility of playing Batman in The Brave and the Bold.

It’s been over two years since DC Studios announced its Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters lineup, but fans are still eagerly awaiting news on who will don the cape as Batman in The Brave and the Bold. While the Dark Knight made a brief appearance in the animated series Creature Commandos, there’s no update yet on Andy Muschietti’s highly anticipated film. Amid speculation, one name gaining traction is It Ends With Us star Brandon Sklenar. During a screening of his series 1923, Sklenar expressed his excitement at the possibility, revealing that Batman has been his favourite character since childhood. He shared that playing the character would be a “crazy” experience.
During the red carpet, when the Entertainment Tonight reporter told him that fans were supporting him for the role, the actor said “Oh, it mean everything to me. It’s been my favourite comic since I was a kid. If there was anything in that world that I would want to do that would be it. I just love that character so much and it would be crazy. My dad was actually like, ‘Have you seen this stuff on YouTube?’ I was like ‘No. I have no idea…’ and then he send it to me. I was like, ‘Damn, alright cool.’ Dad’s down, dad would love that.”
Several actors have expressed their desire to play Batman on the big screen, but Brandon Sklenar has emerged as a fan favourite. In a previous interview with The Playlist, Sklenar revealed that he was once set to meet Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige for a potential role, though the meeting never took place. Now, his sights are set on DC Studios, as he openly shares his enthusiasm for portraying the Caped Crusader.
The actor shared, “I’ve seen a bunch of fan-casting for this Batman thing and that’s very interesting to me, I love Batman. That would be a dream, for sure. But we’ll see what happens, I’m built for it. It would have to be the right thing at the right time.”
Andy Muschietti’s The Brave and the Bold will bring a new version of Batman and Robin to the DC Universe. The film will focus on the father-son relationship, taking inspiration from Grant Morrison’s comic series.
Right now, Robert Pattinson is the only actor from the newer generation playing Batman in DC Elseworlds. He is preparing for Matt Reeves’ sequel, but that film is separate from DC Studios’ Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters lineup.
