Following a deluge of complaints by the public over the problems being faced due to the delay in executing development works in the city, Hubballi Dharwad Central MLA Mahesh Tenginakai recently reviewed the progress of a few works and took officials to task for the delay.
Mr. Tenginakai first visited the site of the multi-parking complex being constructed opposite the old court building in Hubballi and expressed dismay over the slow pace of work.
The MLA sought to know from the officials the reason for the inordinate delay in executing the work on the multi-parking complex, as the project was launched seven years ago. Taking them to task, he asked them to take immediate steps to expedite the work and complete it at the earliest.
Subsequently, Mr. Tenginakai reviewed the progress of the work on the elevated road from Old Court Circle to Old Bus Station near Kittur Chennamma Circle and sought details of the ongoing works.
He pointed out that the delay is causing hardships to the general public and asked them to expedite the work. He directed them to remove the barricades in front of the Old Bus Station and also complete asphalting the road in front of the Bus Stand.
Mr. Tenginakai told presspersons that soon Union Minister Pralhad Joshi will hold a review meeting on the elevated road at Kittur Chennamma Circle. He was accompanied by councillor Meenakshi Vanatamuri, the Managing Director of Hubballi Dharwad Smart City Limited and officials from Public Works Department.
