Barbara Mori, a beloved name in Hollywood and Bollywood, is fondly remembered for her role opposite Hrithik Roshan in Kites (2010). Despite the film’s release 15 years ago, Mori is yet to make a comeback in the Hindi film industry.

In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Mori expressed her openness to doing another Bollywood film. “I’d love to. If you invite me, I’ll go for sure,” she shared, hinting at her willingness to explore Hindi cinema once again.

Currently, Mori is preparing for the release of her upcoming film Lucca’s World, set to premiere on Netflix on January 31, 2025. The film also stars Juan Pablo Medina and follows the moving story of a mother determined to support her son, who has cerebral palsy.

Recalling her first reaction to the script, Mori revealed how deeply it affected her. “I started crying. I could not believe that it was an opportunity for me to represent this kind of story, that really happened. It happens all around the world. In Mexico, we don’t have facilities for dealing with such disability. For me, it was very sad that this happened. So I started crying a lot,” she said.

The actress acknowledged the immense responsibility that came with portraying such a real and sensitive narrative. “It is a huge responsibility to tell a story which is true and the person involved is alive. It’s a story that it’s very powerful because it’s a consistent testimonial. It’s like a testimony. It is a testimony of Lucca, of fight and hope and struggle. It is so inspiring for the people. So yeah, for me it was a responsibility and I really feel honoured to be able to represent Barbara,” she explained.

Mori hopes Lucca’s World will inspire viewers to have faith and push past limitations. “Never stop believing that you can go beyond the limitations of this world because I think, we humans don’t know how much is our capacity to go beyond things that you think are impossible to go beyond and you can do it. This is a beautiful story that tells that and talks about hope, faith and love. The big transformative force of love that can transcend anything,” she concluded.
