Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravi Kumar has taken a slight lead over Loveyapa, starring debutants Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, in their ongoing box office clash. Both films, released last Friday, have struggled to perform well, but Reshammiya’s musical action flick holds a narrow advantage.

According to Sacnilk, Badass Ravi Kumar collected ₹0.60 crore on Monday, dropping by 57.14% from the previous day, and added ₹0.44 crore on Tuesday, bringing its total earnings to ₹7.19 crore (nett). In comparison, Loveyapa minted ₹0.55 crore on Monday, experiencing a sharper 68.57% decline, and earned ₹0.45 crore on Tuesday. Its total now stands at ₹5.55 crore (nett).

Occupancy rates on Tuesday saw Badass Ravi Kumar at 5.85% in Hindi, while Loveyapa managed 7.38%. Badass Ravikumar, which started stronger, earned ₹6.15 crore in its first weekend, compared to the ₹4.55 crore debut for Loveyapa.

Produced by Phantom Films under the banner of Madhu Mantena and Srishti Behl, Loveyapa introduces Junaid Khan, Aamir Khan’s elder son, and Khushi Kapoor, Sridevi’s younger daughter. The film centers around a romantic plot involving a phone swap orchestrated by the girl’s father, played by Ashutosh Rana, with Kiku Sharda in a supporting role. Despite charming performances, Hindustan Times noted pacing issues as a major drawback.

Meanwhile, Reshammiya’s Badass Ravikumar directed by Keith Gomes—marking his directorial debut—garnered mixed reviews. While some fans appreciated the film’s high-energy musical action format, others dismissed it as “illogical.”

The spin-off of 2014’s The Xposé and the second installment in the franchise, Badass Ravikumar also features Prabhu Deva, Kirti Kulhari, Simona J, Sanjay Mishra, and Johnny Lever. Hindustan Times described the film as “an assault on both the villain and our senses, with common sense taking the worst hit.”

Both films face an uphill battle at the box office amid stiff competition from other releases.
