B.Y. Vijayendra confident of continuing as president of BJP unit in Karnataka

B.Y. Vijayendra is confident of continuing in the post of president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit in Karnataka and expects the differences within the party to be resolved after the election to the post.

Speaking to mediapersons in Shivamogga on February 3 in the presence of MLCs D.S. Arun and Dhananjay Sarji, Mr. Vijayendra said there had been much damage to the party. “However, all the issues will be resolved within a week, or 10 days. The party high command has been observing the developments closely,” he stated.

Mr. Vijayendra had been working as president of the Karnataka unit for the last one year. “We have been fighting against the corrupt government in the State. People of the State and workers of the party very well know how I have been functioning. I am confident that I will continue to hold the post, and I will work towards strengthening the party organisation,” he remarked.

The party has been holding elections to elect the president at the mandal, district, and State unit levels. “We have internal democracy. The elections are being held for posts. I am confident that I will get a chance to continue to hold the post,” he added.
