Filmmaker Atlee and his wife Priya Atlee celebrated their son Meer’s second birthday on Friday, January 1. To mark this special occasion, the couple took to Instagram and dropped an adorable family portrait which has left fans go gaga over their cute bond. Sharing the picture Priya wrote in the caption, “Happy happy two our beautiful little world #happybirthday #meerpapa #youcompleteus.”
In the snapshot, the Jawan director is seen sitting on a stool, while his wife sits on the floor. The couple exuded an adorable smile as they looked at their little bundle of joy. The kid, on the other hand, could be seen looking at his father.
As soon as the duo shared the snapshot, the comment section was swamped with reactions from fans and celebs alike. Indian Playback singer Saindhavi commented, “Happy 2nd birthday meer.” TV presenter Kiki Vijay wrote, “Happier birthday to meer god bless!” An Instagram user said, “Wow! He’s two already!! Happy birthday and Lots of love to Meer.”
Atlee and Priya tied the knot on November 9, 2014, after dating each other for over eight years. The couple welcomed their first child, Meer on January 31, 2023.
On the work front, Atlee is known for directing acclaimed films like Their, Mersal and Bigil, all of which featured Thalapathy Vijay in lead roles. His last directorial was the 2023 action thriller Jawan featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. The film, released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, was a blockbuster hit and minted around Rs 1,000 crore gross worldwide.
Atlee’s recent production venture Baby John starring Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi failed to impress the audiences at the box office.
Recently, several reports claimed that he will be directing an action thriller film featuring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna next. Tentatively titled A6, the film might also have either Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan coming on board to create one of Indian cinema’s biggest spectacles. However, an official announcement of the film is yet to be made by the makers.
